I'll never forget the eulogy at a friend's funeral...
Why is it so easy to forget the people we don't see everyday and to take for granted the people we do see?
I never want to feel that way again. I try to remind myself of this everyday. Life is far too short. Say what I mean and mean what I feel.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that eulogy. I guess that the best answer is to make a conscious decision to change. One of my goals is to stay in touch with my friends and family, even though many of them are faraway. And you are so right: Life is far too short!
The answer is simple - we are all busy people and basically self-absorbed - but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't make the daily effort to touch the lives of those we love. I am taken with your spirit - your thoughtful kindness for others, getting past "why me?", & joy in working with kids. You remind me so much of my daughter who is this incredible human being of whom I am very proud. I am happy to have met you. You are welcome at my house below Mission Peak anytime to shower, change, sleep...
I know, it's definitely a tough quandrary Adam. Good for you to make that decision...it's not easy but we can change. ;)
Smiles,
Kona
Hey...ah shucks, thanks for the sweet, kind words. Is that you Jerry? And thanks so much for the generous offer...I just may take you up on it as I LOVED running MP.
And I totally agree. You are right on the money about busy self-absorption. Only we do have the power to change, to step back and become absorbed in the lives of those people who matter most to us.
Peace and hugs,
Kona
